Drama

This weekend was a crazy one, that's for sure.
Friday was pretty tame.  Just a boring day at the office and a few shopping errands to get things such as this:

A very important item!

I also got a few things on sale at Kirklands (which you will see later) and some stuff to make goody bags for my 5th and 6th graders at church.

Saturday was the one that almost did me in.  I started to get a migraine around 11 in the morning.  I had a wedding at 2 to go to, and I was putting off getting ready until I figured out if I could go or not.  The headache was not too bad this time, but I was having some crazy vision problems and I couldn't see out of my left eye very well, so I didn't think it was a good idea to be driving.  After a lot of ibuprofen and a coke and just laying in bed trying to sleep, it finally went away enough that I felt ok to go to the wedding.  I didn't really know anyone else at the wedding or reception, so it was a little awkward.  Also earlier in the day, my bff Cherry had texted me that she had gotten engaged!  We already had a small get together planned on Saturday night, so I decided to make it a kind of surprise engagement party.  I made the world's ugliest cake (seriously- I was so embarrassed), but between the other wedding/reception and going to eat dinner with my family, I didn't have time to (a) fix the cake or (b) make another one.  At least it was kind of dark in there so maybe noone noticed?  It tasted good anyway.  Here's a pic of me and the bride-to-be:

Not to mention that my ex-boyfriend is going to be the best man and I will be the maid of honor.  Um, awkward.  :)  That was a very strange evening.

So Sunday, I went to church and then headed to the mall with my friends Mary and Ashley.  I only got one shirt for my sister at the Gap for $1.27 including tax!  At least my one purchase was a good one!  Well I guess I really got another thing- we made a stop at the cookie stand, and I got one peanut butter M&M cookie which cost more than the shirt I bought!  Then I went to my grandmother's house for dinner.  I made it home in time to watch Extreme Makeover Home Edition.  During the commercial breaks I did this:

I bought these things at Kirklands on Friday, and finally got around to hanging them.  This is the window above my bed, and I hung these above the window.  You really don't want to know how long that took me or how many nail holes are behind them.  Whenever I get sick of them and take them down, there will be a lot of patch work to do.  :)  However, they are exactly the same height above the window and exactly the same distance apart.  I was not prepared for how much work that was going to be.  I had them perfectly aligned once, only to discover that the left one was 10 inches from the center and the other was 8 inches.  I was pretty mad.  haha.  But now they are hanging straight- I just hope one doesn't fall off and hit me in the head while I am sleeping!  (or while I am awake, for that matter.)

Today is another slow day in the office.  It was also my first day to have to call for jury duty.  This week I do not have to go in, which I guess is good.  Tomorrow will also be a slow day in my office, so I was hoping for a little bit of excitement in the courts!  :)

  1. I've never tried that ice cream - I'll have to give it a whirl. Right now my husband and I are barreling through a huge tub of choc. chip cookie dough and mint chip. Sorry about the migraine - my husband gets those so I know they are awful. Will you have to dance with the ex-boyfriend at the wedding? You might want to suggest not.
